Elizabeth “Betty” A. (Brown) Hartry, 94, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Seal Rock Healthcare in Saco, Maine. She was born on March 21,1930 the daughter of Warren and Julia (Stanley) Brown. Betty grew up in Weymouth, graduated from Weymouth High School in 1947 and after high school worked as a typist for the Employees Insurance Company of Boston. She was surrounded her whole life by her best friends from high school that everyone referred to as “The Club” and they had many great adventures together. She married her husband, the late Joseph (Bud) Hartry on June 24, 1951. They made their life together in Weymouth and raised their family there. After raising her three children, she went to work for Jordan Marsh, a job that she loved and from which she later retired. 

Beloved wife of the late Joseph Hartry, she is survived by her sons Stephen Hartry and his wife Linda Hartry of Plymouth, Ma, David Hartry of Baldwinville, Ma, her daughter Carol Powers and her husband Robert Powers of Kennebunk, Maine and her cherished grandchildren Mark Hartry and his wife Christina of Ashland and Matthew Powers of Arlington. Betty was predeceased by her siblings Jean McLellan of Pennsylvania and Warren “Butch” Brown of Hingham. Betty will be deeply missed by everyone that was fortunate enough to know and love her.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 from 12 PM - 2 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial shall be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Special Olympics Massachusetts to www.specialolympics.org.
