Jacobs, Ellen F. (Smith) of Wareham, formerly of Weymouth, passed away peacefully at home on October 22, 2017, surrounded by her daughters singing A Bushel and a Peck.
Ellen graduated from Hingham High School Class of 1945. In her early years, Ellen worked for the telephone company before her successful 25 year career with Sears. She was a former member of the Weymouth Catholic Club. Ellen was an energetic and social woman who loved singing, dancing, traveling and wintering in Florida with her beloved husband. She was a proud and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed.
Beloved wife of the late Victor D. Jacobs. Devoted mother of Lynne Wuotila and her husband Dr. Ronald Wuotila of Pembroke, Kristen Okerfelt and her husband Robert of Duxbury and Vicki Wheaton and her fiance Joseph Faiella of W. Wareham. Cherished Nana of 8 grandchildren and Granana to 11 great-grandchildren. Daughter of the late Cornelius and Ellen “Nellie” Smith. Loving godmother of Donna Boehner of Fl and Margaret Gannon of New Bedford. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:45 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth at 9:30 AM. Burial in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Weymouth.
In lieu of flowers, Ellen’s wish is for everyone to love and take care of each other and enjoy a lobster roll in her memory.
