Ernest "Jack" Jackson Dailey

Ernest Jackson “Jack” Dailey, a longtime Quincy resident peacefully went to heaven on June 4, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. The beloved husband of 64 years to Geraldine “Gerry” (Martin) Dailey. Cherished father of Debbie McDonnell and her husband Terry (QPD) of East Bridgewater, Paul Dailey and his wife Kim of Abington, Barbara Grenier and her husband John of Alabama, Diane O’Connor and her husband Finbarr of Quincy and the late William “Billy” Dailey. Loving brother of Mary Pudsey of Norwood, Richard Dailey of MI and the late Buddy Dailey. Devoted Pup to Caroline Crowley and her husband Steve, John Grenier and his wife Hannah, Michael McDonnell, Liam and Ciara O’Connor, Hannah, Noah and Nick Dailey. Jack is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Jack was a very proud American who proudly served in the United States Army. He loved country music and enjoyed the meanings behind the songs and the writers. He was always ready to listen to or tell a great joke. Laughter was often heard coming from our home. The things that brought Jack the most happiness was his beautiful wife of 64 years and his children and grandchildren. He loved each and every one of them with his whole heart and would remind them every time he talked to them. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and would brag about them to anyone who would listen. He was the best “Pup” to his 8 grandchildren and an amazing dad to his 5 children. He was incredibly excited for the arrival of his first great-grandchild in September.

Jack made each and every child and grandchild feel as though they were his favorite. He acknowledged all of their accomplishments and constantly reminded them how proud he was. Jack would end every conversation with them by saying “ I love you very very much with all my heart.”

Our hearts will always be filled with all the love and joy he provided to his family. We love you so very much. You will live forever in our hearts. We have peace knowing you are no longer in pain and you are reunited with Billy.
