Evelyn C. Lamb

Lamb, Evelyn C. (Almeida) of Somerville, died June 5, 2016.

Evelyn was born and raised in Somerville, attending Catholic schools and graduating from Somerville High School. During her 42 years in Somerville, she was an active parishioner of St. Catherine’s Parish and worked 20 years as a professional seamstress at various garment companies. Evelyn lived in Arlington for the next 42 years and served as a devoted member of St. Eulalia’s Parish in Winchester. She spent 25 years working for New England Telephone and Telegraph, doing accounting and bookkeeping at offices in Arlington, Watertown and Boston, retiring in 1985. Most recently, Evelyn lived in Hingham at the Allerton Assisted Living Center. As an avid sports fan she enjoyed watching bowling, tennis and the Boston Red Sox. Having married on July 4, 1942 she celebrated 66 years of marriage before her husband, Lester N. Lamb, passed away in 2009.

Devoted mother of Richard L. Lamb and his wife Lorraine of Weymouth and David C. Lamb and his wife Eduarda of Weymouth. Cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Almeida. Loving sister of the late Richard J. Almeida and his wife Frances of Somerville.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Thursday at 10 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street). Funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 11:30 AM. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Evelyn may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 186 Highland Ave, Somerville, MA 02143.
