Frances "Fran" Player (Goodwin), age 83, of Weymouth, passed away on August 28, 2026.

Affectionately known as "Nana Fran" to many, she was the most loving and caring person you could ever meet, and was truly born to be a mom and a nana. She was always there for her grandchildren, never missing a first day of school, sporting event, or school event-being a nana was the highlight of her life. She loved to bake for every occasion, especially muffins for Bob, and she enjoyed baking alongside her grandchildren and friends. She never missed a birthday, always mailing a card and making a phone call to sing happy birthday; your birthday wasn't complete until Nana called. Fran also loved Elvis Presley and was famously known for her Elvis Room-if you were lucky, you made her Elvis "wall of fame"!

Fran was a devoted mother to Deb (Bill) Bzdula, Karen (Dave) Morse, and Laurie (and the late Bob) Fuller. She was the loving grandmother of Brian, Cory, Tyler, Brendan, Kelsey, and Karley, and a proud great nana of Cole and Vienna. A dear friend to Marge Horick, she is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband John Player, her parents Muriel Goodwin Belcher and Richard Goodwin, her son-in-law Bob Fuller, and her brothers Harold, Richard, Roland, Robert, David, and Ralphie, with whom she shared a special bond, as well as his sons David and Donald Goodwin.

Funeral services will be held on September 9, 2026. Friends are invited to gather at 10:30 AM at the McDonald Funeral Home parking lot (40 Sea Street, Weymouth) to join the procession for an 11:00 AM graveside service at Fairmount Cemetery.
