Francis A. Sayers, of Quincy, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 18, 2025.
Born in Jamaica Plain, he was a devoted son of the late Edward and Mary (Conway) Sayers from Sligo, Ireland. Francis was a veteran serving in the United States Army during the Korean War, then served in the United States Marine Corps. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University. Francis started his career as a salesman for the Boston Edison Company, worked his way up the ranks to Supervisor, and was very proud of his work at the Boston Edison Company. He was a member of Sacred Heart Parish & the Knights of Columbus. Francis also enjoyed vacationing with family at his home in Dennisport, MA.
Of importance to Francis was his Catholic Faith and his Family. He was the beloved husband of 66 years of Barbara A. (King) Sayers. Francis was the devoted father of Francis Sayers and his wife Tracy, James Sayers and his late wife Elizabeth, John Sayers and his wife Nancy, Mark Sayers and his wife Diane, Linda Mantville and her husband Kevin, and Karen Sayers and her partner Josh Tucker. He was the proud “Grandpa / LaLa” of 7 grandchildren (Francis Jr, Peter, Lindsey, John Jr, Alissa, Brianna & Thomas) and 3 great-grandchildren (Mackenzie, Cameron & Roman). He was the brother of Paul and Richard Sayers, and the late Edward, John, Kevin & Joseph Sayers, and his sisters that passed in childhood Mary and Margaret.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday, September 25th from 4-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy. Family and friends will gather in the funeral home beginning at 9 AM on Friday, September 26th prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 o’clock. Burial will follow in Mount Wollaston, Quincy.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Francis may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
