Fred I. Smith

Smith, Fred I. of Hingham, formerly of South Boston, a retired Boston Fire Fighter and Navy Veteran of WWII, passed away December 27, 2010 at the age of 92. He was the beloved husband of 65 years to Dorothy A. (Long); loving father of Maureen and her husband Bob Marcell of Duxbury; and the devoted grandfather of Alyson Marcell of Boston. Fred was also survived by his sister-in-law Theresa Crawford of Dedham. A memorial service will be held in Renaissance Gardens at Linden Ponds, Hingham on Sunday 1/9 at 2 PM. Donations in memory of Fred may be made to the Salvation Army, 6 Baxter St., Quincy, MA 02169.
