George F. Cataldo, age 93, of Kingston, formerly West Palm Beach, FL, passed away on April 28, 2026.
George was born in Boston, MA to George and Mary (Fotherbee) Cataldo on August 16th, 1932. He grew up in the South End of Boston and attended Cathedral High School. George worked as a shipper until he was 18,
and then served in the United States Army until 1954. Following his military service, George became a Boston Firefighter where rose through the ranks until retiring as a Lieutenant after 40 years. During his time as a fire fighter, he acted as an executive on the credit union for the Fire department.
He took great pride in raising his children in Dorchester. George was an avid golfer and loved racquetball. He was funny, loyal, and a hard worker. He cared deeply for his family and friends.
George was the beloved husband of the late Helen (O’Connor) Cataldo and the late Elizabeth (Dorian) Cataldo. He is survived by his loving children, Deborah Cataldo of Kingston, MA, Christine Bradley and her husband David of Quincy, MA, Paula Mitchell and her late husband Dennis of Hanson, MA, George Cataldo and his wife Noreen of Hanover, MA, Ellen Shea and her husband Michael of Richmond, VA. He was the adoring grandfather of 10 and great grandfather of 10. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
George was predeceased by his siblings William Cataldo, Evelyn Needham, and Paul Cataldo.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 4-8 PM at the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY, MA 02170. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Boston.
In Lieu of flowers, please make a donation in George’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
