George Valli passed away on June 3, 2026, the result of a long illness. He was born on October 6, 1954 in South Boston to the late George and Rosemary Valli, the second of four children. He moved to Quincy, MA in childhood and attended North Quincy High School, and went on to work for the Gillette Company as a honer, machine operator for many years.
George married his beloved wife Gale on October 6, 1984, his thirtieth birthday. They had two daughters, Kaitlin and Alexandra, and made a home in Quincy with wonderful friends and neighbors. Later he would welcome his sons-in-law, Ryan and Damien, happy to embrace new family members. His granddaughters brought him so much joy in his later years. He adored his family.
He had many hobbies and interests--he collected antique books, was an accomplished blues guitarist, and loved movies and reading. He loved the outdoors as a younger man and loved to go camping with his lifelong friends and family in the woods of Vermont. His bookshelves were stuffed with classic novels and books about music, films, the sea, and history. He truly loved visits with his cherished siblings and was always happy to chat or watch a movie with them.
George is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Gale; his daughters Kaitlin Valli and her husband Damien Sulla-Menashe and Alexandra Hawes and her husband Ryan; his granddaughters Lyra and Summer; his sister Maureen Giordano; his brother Chris Valli and his wife Briget; his brother Steven Valli and his wife Kathy; as well as many nieces and nephews, and an extended network of dear friends.
George was an incredibly smart, funny, and kind man. We will miss him.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Sunday, June 14, 2026 from 12-3pm in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Funeral service will be celebrated on Sunday, June 14th at 3pm in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy. In lieu of flowers, a donation in George's name to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation is suggested.
