Blanchard, Gladys M. “Mrs. B” of Weymouth, died January 22, 2014, at the age of 84.
She was raised in Medford where she was a graduate of Medford High School and was also the captain of the Field Hockey Team. Gladys worked for over 40 years for the Weymouth Police Department as a beloved Traffic Supervisor. She was also a member of the M.A.T.E. Association in Madison, New Hampshire, where Gladys and her husband spent most weekends. In her spare time, Gladys always enjoyed skiing, reading, travelling, playing tennis, and most of all spending time with her family and grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Beloved wife of John M. Blanchard of Weymouth. Loving mother Debra M. Fisher and her husband, Jeffrey of Lakeville, Michele A. Paradiso, of Rochester, NH, Holly J. Almquist and her husband, Scott, of Duxbury, John V. “Jay” Blanchard and his wife, Sharon, of Hingham, and the late Michael J. Blanchard and his wife Joanne of Weymouth. Sister of the late Frances Merlino. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday from 2-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital) Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:30 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth at 9:30 AM. Burial will be held in the spring at Village Cemetery, Weymouth.
