Harold T. “Tom” Jones

Jones, Harold T. “Tom” of Weymouth, passed away February 25, 2013 at the age of 90.

Tom was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA. & had lived in Weymouth for 60 years. He attended the RCA Institute, NYC, Hemphill Diesel School NYC, Northeastern University & M.I.T. Tom retired after 38 years with Sturtevant Mill Co. in Dorchester. He was also a Coast guard Vet. WWII. Tom was former president of South Shore Amatuer Radio Club, member of A.R.R.L. (Amatuer Radio Relay League) & his radio handle was “Hal”. Late member National Society of Professional Engineers & Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Beloved husband of the late Dorothy F. (Broussard) Jones. Father of Robert E. Jones of Ashland, Ronald T. Jones of Weymouth & Richard A. Jones of Weymouth. Brother of the late Edward B.Jones. Grandfather of Christopher Jones, Peter Jones married to Alice, Lisa Adams married to Ken & Tricia Jones. Also survived by 6 great Grandchildren & many nieces & nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the North Weymouth McDonald Funeral Home 40 Sea St.(off RT.3A-Bicknell Square). Funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 O’clock in the McDonald funeral Home. Burial in Old North Cemetery, Weymouth.
