Helene (McDonough) Julian

Helene (McDonough) Julian, of Weymouth, formerly of Quincy, died peacefully on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Allerton House Hingham. She was 80.

Helene was born in Boston on January 6, 1944, and was the daughter of the late Francis and Helen (McFadd) McDonough. She was raised in Quincy, attended local schools and graduated from North Quincy High School.

Helene worked as an administrative assistant in the funeral service industry and at a CPA firm. Some of her fondest memories included her time working as a secretary at John Hancock in Boston, where she made lifelong friends. She was blessed to have a close knit group of friends, with some of those friendships lasting 75 years.

She would often reminisce about the many wonderful memories growing up on Merrymount Ave. in Wollaston. Helene was an avid gardener and decorator, especially during the holidays. She always made Christmas feel magical for her family. Helene was very creative. She enjoyed knitting, needlepoint, sewing, and floral design. She loved to dance and welcomed every opportunity to do so.

Helene’s most cherished role was that of being a mother. She always went above and beyond for her children, who she loved very dearly. Becoming a grandmother, and then a great grandmother, filled her heart with so much joy.

Helene was the beloved wife of the late Albert L. Julian Sr. (QFD, Retired), with whom she shared many loving years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of Lisa M. Julian and her wife Deborah A. Bushey of North Weymouth, Albert L. Julian Jr. and his husband Douglas Nahigian of New Seabury, Mashpee, and Lori A. Condon and her husband Christopher (QFD) of Hull. Helene was the loving grandmother of Patrick Condon of Hull, Matthew Condon and his wife Mikaela of Palm Bay, Florida, and Declan Condon of Hull. She was the loving great grandmother of Graysen and Norah Condon, both of Palm Bay, Florida. Helene was the dear sister of Stephen McDonough and his wife Mary of Lakeville, and Alice Neves and her husband Richard of Quincy. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, from 9 AM to 12 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.
