Irene G. Dirksmeier

Irene G. Dirksmeier (Fein) of Rockland, died February 21, 2016 at the age of 92.

In her younger years, Irene worked for both Sears in Boston and Woolworth’s in Hyannis. Later in life, she volunteered at South Shore Hospital. She enjoyed traveling with her family and attending events at the Council of Aging in Rockland. She loved to knit and sew. Family was the focus of Irene’s life.

She was the wife of the late Andrew L. Dirksmeier, Jr. Loving mother of Elizabeth and husband Dominick R. Nista of Plymouth and the late Mark Dirksmeier and his wife Teresa of Scituate. Sister of Helen Girard of Lynn and Marie Treggiari of Needham. Also lovingly survived by 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at  8 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in Holy Family Church, Rockland at 9AM. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Quincy.
