Irene Murphy

Irene (Carr) Murphy of Hingham, died June 28, 2014 at the age of 89.

Irene was a member of numerous tennis clubs on the South Shore. She was a long distance swimmer and avid walker in her later years.

Wife of the late Paul A. Murphy, Attorney. Loving mother of Paul A. Murphy, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Northborough and Wendy Anderson and her husband Ted of Wollaston. Devoted “Nana” of Elizabeth Murphy and her companion Shannon Pusey and their son Lucas of Ashland and Carolyn Murphy of Northborough. Sister of Rosemary Rich of Chelmsford, Anita Eldridge of FL, and the late Sally Deering.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital) followed by a service at 7 PM. Interment in MA National Cemetery in Bourne at a later date. Donations in memory of Irene may be made to the Alzheimers Assn., MA Chapter, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
