In 1961 he married the love of his life, Maureen, in a celebration attended by over 400 guests. They settled in North Quincy where they raised their five children. After almost forty years in Quincy and 37 years at the Boston Edison, Jim retired and moved to Falmouth with Maureen where they enjoyed another twenty years of entertaining their ten grandchildren with backyard movies and trips to Old Silver Beach. A favorite pastime was being the chauffeur for family and friends participating in the annual Falmouth Road Race followed by tending the post-race backyard grill.
