Obituary

Listen to Obituary

James Liam Fennessy passed away peacefully in Boston, Massachusetts, on November 1, 2026, at the age of 55, after a hard-fought battle with Alzheimer’s.

Born on February 7, 1971, in Boston, James was raised in Quincy, Massachusetts. Known to many as Liam, he built a life marked by dedication to his family, pride in his work, and commitment to serving others. Straight out of high school, he joined the military and became a proud member of the United States Marine Corps, serving his country in 1999. After his time in the service, he followed family into Pipefitters Local 537, where he remained a member for 31 years. His long career reflected his loyalty to his trade.

Above all, James was a loving husband to Kerri (Fox) Fennessy and a proud father to Avery Elizabeth Fennessy. His family was at the heart of his life, and he will be remembered for the love and devotion he gave them every day.

In addition to his wife Kerri and daughter Avery, James is survived by his brothers, Richard Fennessy and Jonathan Fennessy, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will carry his memory forward with affection and gratitude.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cathy (Fahey) Fennessy and Richard Fennessy, and by his grandparents, Leo and Audry Fahey.

We are so very grateful to James' brothers of the USMC for reaching out and being such a massive support to our family during this difficult time. We know James is grateful too.

James will be remembered with love, respect, and deep gratitude by all who knew him. His strength, loyalty, and devotion to family and country leave a lasting legacy in the lives he touched.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday 11/5/2026 from 4-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Friday 11/6/2026 prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Cremation will follow.
