Obituary

Listen to Obituary

James "Jim" Spellman passed away peacefully on June 5th, surrounded by his family. Born in Houlton, Maine, to Orrin and Lena, he was predeceased by his son Robert and his siblings, John, Charles, and Glenna (DeDe). He is survived by his children, Peter (Devon) of Sparta, NJ, and Dana (Nicole) of Norwell. Jim moved to Rockland with his family in 1974 and remained a resident there for the rest of his life.

An accomplished singer and lead guitarist, Jim was a well-known figure on the country music circuit and a member of both the Massachusetts and Maine Country Music Halls of Fame. He was a dedicated fan of the Boston Bruins and especially enjoyed fishing with his sons.

Jim is fondly remembered by his wife, Donna, who cherished their daily laughter together. He was also incredibly proud of his grandchildren: Michael, Matthew, Ella, Tessa, Nathan, James, and Stella.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday 6/15/2026 from 4-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So.
