James “Doug” Kehoe of Quincy, Massachusetts passed away on September 19, 2026.

Doug was a devoted and loving husband to his late wife Lorraine Palmer Kehoe, and their life together was marked by deep affection, laughter, and the enduring happiness they created with family and friends. More than anything else, Doug’s life was centered on love, and those who knew him saw in his marriage with Lorraine a rare and beautiful partnership.

Upon completing his service in the United States Army, Doug began a long and successful career in the construction industry. His career began with Union Carbide and then went on to serve for many years as Deputy Director of Construction for the Boston Housing Authority. After “retiring” Doug ran his own General Contracting company. There was truly nothing Doug couldn’t build, fix, or repair.

Doug had many passions throughout his life. He was a talented hockey player and later a coach, a sports car driver, and a longtime avid golfer. He took up the game well before golf became as popular as it is today, and his command of the sport was impressive, maintaining an exceptionally low handicap.

Together, Doug and Lorraine created a wonderful life filled with love, laughter, family, and cherished friendships. Their devotion to one another was unmistakable to everyone who knew them. Through all the years and all that life brought their way, they remained deeply devoted to each other. Theirs was a true love story—the kind too few are fortunate enough to experience.

Doug was an enduring stepfather to the late Mark C. Stewart, Cherise Kramer and her husband Jeffrey of Long Island, New York, and to Valerie L. Stewart of Squantum, Massachusetts. He was the adored and proud grandfather of Maxwell C. Kramer and Jordan L. Kramer of Long Island, New York. He is also survived by his sister, Joyce Aurelias and her late husband, John, of Georgetown, Kentucky and by his brother Scott Kehoe and his wife Dolores of Falmouth, Maine. Doug was the caring uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Doug will be remembered for his warmth, his skillful hands, his love of golf, and above all for the love he shared so fully with Lorraine and the family around him. His life was one of commitment, laughter, and enduring devotion, and his memory will remain a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
