James L. Parker, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2025 surrounded by his family at his home, at the age of 62. Born on November 5, 1962, to the late William and Christena Parker.
James, affectionately known as Uncle Jim, is survived by his daughter, Sara Sullivan, and her husband, John, of Hingham. He was the proud grandfather to John Parker Sullivan. He is also survived by his siblings: Debbie Currie and her husband, Daniel, of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia; Billy Parker of Weymouth; Ann Chisholm and her husband, Alex, of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia; Daniel Parker and his wife, Julie, of Weymouth; and John Parker of Weymouth. He was predeceased by his brother Bobby Parker, leaving behind Jane of Plymouth. His life was enriched by the love and companionship of many nieces and nephews who will miss his presence dearly.
A graduate of Weymouth South High School, James was known for his strong work ethic, which he demonstrated throughout his career as a truck driver for various oil and gas companies.
Jimmy was best known for the love he possessed for his family. His fondest memories of his life occurred on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. In the town of Inverness, Uncle Jim was known as a “summer-time staple,” as he had many devout friends who he looked forward to spending time with all year long. Jim was the life of any gathering, always “waggin’ the tongue,” earning him the affectionate title of the Town Crier. His laughter, stories, huge-heart, and visits will be dearly missed by many.
Jimmy was an avid Boston Bruins fan, a passion that was only matched by his love for spending time at Inverness beach. His dogs, Lord Stanley Cup and Nova, were his faithful companions, often by his side on his many adventures.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday 6/12/2025 from 12-3 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So.
