James F. Ryan

Ryan, James F. “Jimmy” of Quincy, died August 13, 2025.

Jimmy was a longtime resident of Squantum and graduated from Boston English High School and Northeastern University. He owned and operated Pilot Freight at Logan Airport. He was also an Army veteran and served two years in Germany. Jimmy loved spending time with his family, especially the kids. He enjoyed sitting in his backyard listening to the Red Sox and reading the newspaper. He was always optimistic and was a kind, generous, and talkative man who wanted to know about you rather than talk about himself. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Loving son of the late James and Eileen (Campbell) Ryan. Beloved brother of Patricia Ryan of Quincy, Charles Ryan of NH, and the late Ruth Rooney. Cherished uncle of Tanya Maniscalco, Thorin Ryan, Paul Rooney, Kathleen Rooney, Eileen Richardson, Kevin Rooney, Kelly Dumont, the late Michael Rooney, and many grand nieces and nephews.
