Jane M. (Barry) Gallagher-Carelli

Jane M. Gallagher-Carelli, of Marshfield, died peacefully at her home on Saturday, December 20, 2025. She was 80.

Jane was born in Boston on August 31, 1945, and was the daughter of the late Charles Roger Barry Sr. and Marie (Carey) Barry. She was predeceased by her loving husband, James Carelli Jr. Jane was raised in Braintree and attended local schools. A graduate of Braintree High School, class of 1963, she went on to attend Stonehill College, graduating in 1967.

She devoted 35 years to teaching English at East Junior High in Braintree where she was known as an exceptionally passionate and dedicated teacher.

She and her beloved husband Jim shared passions included traveling near and far and rooting for the New England Patriots. Jane's intelligence, independence, and generosity of spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. The love and patience shown by Jane as she helped care for her parents in their final years was truly inspiring.

Jane's family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude for all of the exceptional care provided by the staff at Proprietors Green.

Jane was the devoted sister of Roger Barry and his wife Rose of Pembroke, and the late Priscilla Campbell and her late husband Robert. She was the loving aunt of Heather Ghilardi and her husband Jeff of Plympton, and Leigh-Ann Barry of Plymouth, and the loving great auntie of Avery and Zoey Ghilardi, both of Plympton.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 9:30-11:30 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A - Bicknell Square).

Her funeral service will be celebrated on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 11:30 AM in McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea St. (off Rt. 3A-Bicknell Sq.), Weymouth.

Services will conclude with interment in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth.
