Jane E. Reddish, 64, of Weymouth, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born and raised in Weymouth, Jane was the daughter of the late Constance (Leary) Reddish and Paul Reddish. She was a proud graduate of Weymouth North High School, achieving the Best Athlete Award in 1978, and went on to attend Stonehill College on a basketball scholarship, earning her Bachelor of Science degree.
Jane built a successful career in the financial services industry at Putnam Investments and State Street Research. As knowledgeable and respected as she was in her industry, her greatest strength lay in her role as a caregiver. She retired from the financial field to first care for her Mother and her Father and then her beloved grandnieces and grandnephews — a role she embraced with love and joy.
In her younger years, she was a force on the basketball court—fierce, fast, and relentlessly determined. She played with heart, grit, and purpose, and that same fire carried through every part of her life. Off the court, she became a quiet warrior—standing strong for the people she loved, fighting for what was right, and never giving up on anyone. Family meant everything to her - every branch and generation of the family tree. To her nieces and nephews, she was more than an aunt; she was a second mother. To their children, she was a guiding light and a true nurturer.
Her favorite time of year was March Madness, reflecting her lifelong love of sports. Jane faced her battle with cancer with the same tenacity that she showed on the basketball court. She showed extraordinary grace, strength, positivity, and courage, inspiring everyone around her.
She is survived by her siblings Paul F. Reddish of Weymouth, Michael H. Reddish and Kathy Reddish of Hanover, Jill M. Reddish of Weymouth and Lee Reddish of Weymouth and the late Daniel Reddish. She was a loving aunt to Patrick Reddish and his wife Morgan, Jennifer O’Malley and her husband Ryan, Jamie Wilson and her husband Jim, Michael Reddish and his fiancée Jami, and Tommy Reddish and his wife Brianna. Jane was also a devoted and beloved great-aunt to Colin, Bridie, Maeve, and Declan O’Malley; Violet, Charlotte, and Juliet Wilson, and a Godmother to Molly Bean— all of whom brought immense joy to her life.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Friday 5/9/2025 from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So.
