Donovan, Janet M. (Lowe) of Weymouth, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2024 surrounded by her family & friends. Janet was born in Boston to the late Edna & Richard Lowe. She was a graduate of Cardinal Cushing High School Class of 1966. Janet worked at Quincy Community Action Programs since 1982 in their Fuel Assistance program. She began as an Intake Worker, then Certifier & Program Coordinator. She took great pride in her work & earned her title of Program Director for Fuel Assistance & Weatherization.

Janet loved the ocean, enjoying vacations to Cape Cod & day trips to Nantasket Beach. She was a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox. Janet’s greatest joy were her 3 grandchildren, she loved them beyond words. Always beaming with pride at any & all events for them; school plays, concerts, sports, grandparents day, proms, graduations, engagements, birthdays, holidays, playtime~Nana loved being part of their lives.

Janet was diagnosed with cancer in September 2023. She fought a grueling battle & endured so much during these past 6 months. Her strength, hope, & determination were unmatched.

Cherished wife of Joseph D. Donovan of Weymouth. Loving mother of Tara J. Campbell of Weymouth. Beloved Nana of Ryan D. Campbell, Eric D. Campbell, & Emily E. Campbell of Weymouth. Dear sister of the late Richard F. Lowe. Much loved sister in law of Thomas J. Donovan of Swampscott, & William F. & Ruth E. Donovan of Hyannis. Adored cousin of Linda M. Totten, Celine T. Mahoney, Nancy L. & Michael T. Ahearn, Daniel B. & Lisa K. Totten all of Quincy. Bestest friend of Donna M. Brennion of Quincy. Janet is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, & friends.

Burial services will be private- family & close friends. Please consider a memorial donation in Janet’s name to South Shore Hospital Oncology Emerson 6 to honor her amazing team of caregivers.
