Janet C. Powers

Powers, Janet C. of Quincy, died November 6, 2025.

Janet was originally from South Boston before moving to Quincy. She worked for the City of Boston for many years as an administrative assistant. She loved the beach and was a sun worshiper at Nantasket Beach. She enjoyed listening to music, dancing, playing cards and bingo, and volunteering at the local food pantry. Janet participated in the Senior Olympics at the Kennedy Center, winning bronze, silver, and gold medals. She got lunch with her sisters every Tuesday and cherished their time together. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Loving sister of Edward J. Powers, Jr. and his wife Margaret of Braintree, Rosemary Shea and her late husband John of Milton, Carole MacAleese of Braintree, and the late Donald Powers and Joan Marie Nee. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews, her dear friend Barbara McDonough of Dorchester and her friends at The Moorings.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday 11/13/2025 from 9-10:30 AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY followed by the Funeral Mass in St. Elizabeth's Church, Milton, at 11 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Janet may be made to the COPD Foundation, PO Box 160112 Miami, FL 33116 or to the Arthritis Foundation, 1355 Peachtree St NE Suite 600, Atlanta, GA 30309.
