Jean Marie DeJordy passed away on October 6, 2025. She leaves behind her half-sister Victoria along with three other half siblings in California. In New England, she leaves close friends Steve, Martha, Joanne, Jane, Peter, Jay, David & Charlotte, and many more.
Born on February 26, 1949, in Hardwick, Vermont, she was adopted by Albert and Ora Annie DeJordy. Close to both parents she shared a special bond with her father. Jean was class valedictorian for her graduating high school class. She largely lived and worked in Massachusetts and retired from MIT as an administrator. Jean was fiercely intelligent (… you could not beat her in *any* game) a voracious reader with an equally voracious appetite for learning. There was no subject one could bring up that she couldn’t give infinite details on (…it was at times unnerving & ‘annoying’ 12, lol!). She loved mystery books, history, arts, the varieties of religious experience, the history of religions, anthropology, mysticism, and Kabbalah and a particular interest in Buddhism (and this is only a partial list). In her younger days she loved hard rock. She was also an animal lover and rescued cats all of her life.
More importantly she was an exceedingly good, thoughtful, generous, giving, compassionate, humorous and as pure a soul as there ever was and she will be sorely missed!
Jean never married. She was a member of the The Unitarian Universalist Church of Medford.
