Jean M. (Horton) MacNeil

MacNeil, Jean M. (Horton) of Weymouth, passed away on November 19, 2025. She was three days away from her 90th birthday.

Jean was a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post # 79 in South Weymouth along with her husband George. She was an avid golfer, even beating George to her first hole in one. Jean enjoyed shopping, whether it was a solo trip or with her beloved daughters Susan and Lori. She was a sucker for a good lobster roll, all things BINGO, line dancing and her love of country western music. Jean’s perseverance through her diseases towards the end of her life were an inspiration to all her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Predeceased by her husband of 64 years George E. MacNeil. Loving mother to her two daughters, Susan Grossman and her husband Paul of Marshfield and Lori Hill and her husband Robert of Port Charlotte, FL. Loving Grammy to Andrew, Christopher, Tyler, and Robert IIII and 5 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her siblings Virginia Adams and Robert Horton. Also survived by many family and friends, including her dear friends Lance and Kristina.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Sunday, November 23, 2025 from 2-4 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Funeral service will be celebrated on Monday, November 24, 2025 at 10 AM in Old South Union Church, Weymouth. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jean may be made to Beacon Hospice, 529 Main Street, Suite 126, Charlestown, Massachusetts 02129.
