Jennifer (Shepard) Buckley, age 61, passed away unexpectedly on August 3, 2026.
Born in Quincy, Jennifer was the beloved daughter of Frederick V. Shepard and Agnes T. (Shepard) Weeks. After graduating from Woodward School for Girls, Jen attended Suffolk University and earned a B.A. in Literature. Later in life she returned to school, attending Quincy College, earning a B.S. in nursing and fulfilling her calling to become a Registered Nurse. She dedicated her nursing career to caring for others with compassion, professionalism and unwavering commitment. Her gentle nature, warm smile and genuine concern made a lasting impression on her patients, coworkers and everyone fortunate enough to know her. She was a proud nurse and enjoyed her time as an OR Nurse at Quincy Hospital before a devastating illness ended her career. And although it has been many years since she has worked there, she still has many friends from her days there.
Above all else, Jen treasured the time she spent with her family and friends. She especially loved sharing life’s simplest moments with those she cared about. Whether it be time spent at Manomet Beach (“her beach”), sharing the musical playlists she compiled as “Radiohead Shepard”, playing with her beloved dog Finnian, or visiting her mom and sister, Jen relished those times because she was with her loved ones. She had a tight knit family and as her husband Paul put it “they were so close, you couldn’t fit a piece of paper between them”. She shared an unbreakable bond with her sister and Paul likened them to “inseparable twins”.
Jen had a witty sense of humor and a “curious” nature that could get her into mischief. Jen was known for her kind demeanor, generous heart, and despite any adversity that life brought her, an ever-present smile. This spirit will always be remembered and will provide inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Jen’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
Jen is survived by her beloved husband, Paul Buckley of Plymouth. Her mother Agnes (Shepard) Weeks, brother G. Frederick Shepard and sister Sarah Shepard all of Quincy, as well as her cherished best friend Mary (Houli) Mulligan of Weymouth. She also leaves behind many cherished relatives and countless dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Frederick V. Shepard and step father Leo J. Weeks.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation on Tuesday, August 11th, from 8:30-10:30 AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Immediately following the visitation, a Funeral Mass will be held in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 11 AM. Cremation to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jennifer’s name to MGB Spaulding Rehabilitation, Boston, MA. Please see www.Keohane.com for directions and online condolences.
