Joan (Collins) Fay of Weymouth, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on April 17, 2025. She was 82.
Beloved wife of the late Francis X. Fay (BFD) for 45 years.
Loving mother of Kathleen R. Fay, Esq. and her husband, Anthony J. Holmes, Michael Fay and his wife, Melissa, Todd Martindale, Lisa Boyce and her husband, Kenneth, the late William Martindale, the late James Fay and the late Patricia Brawley.
Devoted Grammy to Cosette Fay, Mya and Anthony Holmes Jr., Michael Martin, Will and Stephanie Martindale, Abby and Maggie Fay, Chloe Kelley, and Sydney, Samantha, and Alex Brawley. Great grandmother to Fiona Fay Kelley.
Sister in law of Elizabeth Collins and her late husband, John, (BPD). Sister of the late Susan Bailey, Mary Franklin, and Ann Collins.
Adoring aunt to Johnny, Mark, and Joe Collins and their wives. She held a special place in her heart for them.
Cherished friend of Ginni Santoro of Baltimore, MD.
Joan will be deeply missed by her Newfoundland dogs Sally Jane and Frankie Sue along with her bulldog Bleu Solo. Her dogs brought great comfort and joy since Frank’s passing in 2019.
Proud to have been born and raised in Dorchester, Joan was one of five children born to Kathleen and John J. Collins. She was a graduate of St. Gregory's High School before attending business school. Joan was a lifelong sports fan and enjoyed watching the Patriots and Red Sox games with Frank. One of her last joys in life was watching the 2025 Masters which she found to be the most exciting. Joan enjoyed all sorts of traveling whether it was a trip to Las Vegas with Frank, her dream cruise to Alaska with Kate, her numerous trips around the country to watch Cosette compete in Irish dance or her summer road trips to Provincetown with Ginni.
Joan’s Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday May 6th, 2025 at 10:30 AM in Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM
Burial will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Norwell VNA and Hospice, 120 Longwater Drive, Norwell, MA 02061. The family would like to thank in particular Cindy, Allison and Kim for all the love, care and compassion shown to Joan during her illness.
