Joan L. Van Bibber, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 80. Born on March 10, 1945, Joan was the loving daughter of the late Jennie and Thomas Nigro. She grew up in Quincy, where she attended Quincy Public Schools.
Joan's heart was always full when surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Ronald H. Van Bibber. Joan's legacy is carried on by her devoted children, Susan Harris and her husband Gregory of Walpole, James Van Bibber and his wife Jodi of Carver, and Thomas Van Bibber and his wife Tracey of Weymouth. She was the adored Nonnie to her grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer, Courtney, Michael, Hannah, Gwen, and Leah, and the cherished Great Nonnie to Aria and Kalani. Her role as a sister was equally treasured, leaving behind her dear sister Marilyn DiBona and her late husband Kenneth of N. Easton, and her brother Thomas Nigro and his wife Pat of California. Joan's love and influence extended to her many nieces, nephews, her 2 grand puppies and a host of good friends who will miss her dearly.
Professionally, Joan dedicated many years as the Circulation Supervisor for the Patriot Ledger. Her love for shopping was well-known, as she was always on the hunt for a good bargain. Word searches were also a favorite pastime.
In the kitchen, Joan was a classic Italian grandmother, whose banana bread, oatmeal raisin cookies, jello cake and chicken braid were the stuff of family legend.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday May 21, 2025 from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So.
