John R. "Jack " Danckert, a lifelong resident of Quincy, Massachusetts, passed away on May 9, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose life was defined by service, community, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.

Jack was the beloved husband of Carole (Burke) Danckert, with whom he shared 69 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life centered on family, faith, and community, creating a legacy that continues through generations.

He was the beloved father of Mark Danckert and his wife Joann of Plainville, Massachusetts; Jay Danckert and his wife Ginny of Randolph, Massachusetts; and Stephen Danckert and his wife Birgit of Rockland, Massachusetts.

Jack took great pride in his grandchildren, who simply adored him: Chris Danckert of Plainville, Massachusetts; Katie (Danckert) Hollis and her husband Tim of Wayland, Massachusetts; Kelly Danckert and her wife Amanda Dell of Starksboro, Vermont; Daniel Danckert and his wife Maria (Charboneau) of Whitinsville, Massachusetts; Kristen Danckert and her husband Joe Formularo of Hoboken, New Jersey; and Stephanie Danckert of Dublin, Ireland. He was also the loving great-grandfather of Liam Hollis and Carolena Danckert, who brought him great joy.

A proud veteran, Jack served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. In recognition of his service and sacrifice, he was awarded the Ambassador for Peace Medal by the Republic of Korea at a ceremony in Quincy Town Hall in 2017.

Jack was a graduate of Boston University and went on to build a distinguished career in the insurance industry. He spent many years working in Quincy, ultimately retiring from CNA Insurance, where he was widely respected as an expert in architectural and engineering liability insurance.

Deeply rooted in his community, Jack gave generously of his time throughout his life. He was active in the Jaycees, coached Little League, and served faithfully as an usher at Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish in Squantum.

Above all, the center of Jack’ life was his family. He treasured every moment spent with them and took immense pride in their accomplishments and happiness.

Jack leaves behind countless friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness, courtesy, and quiet service.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday, May 18th from 4-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Tuesday, May 19th prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM.
