John Albert DeMarco III, of Abington, died suddenly on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 47 years old.
John was born in Boston on January 2, 1978, and was raised in Middleboro, Massachusetts. He attended local schools and was a proud graduate of Middleboro High School, Class of 1996. From an early age, he showed a love for the outdoors, family, and—most of all—hockey, where he led as the hockey captain in Randolph.
Following high school, John enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. His service reflected the same courage and determination that defined every part of his life. He was honorably discharged, leaving the Marines with the deep respect of his brothers-in-arms and all who knew him.
John was the proud owner of J. DeMarco Inc., a successful construction business based in Abington, Massachusetts. He could operate just about any piece of heavy equipment put in front of him.
John found joy in the simple things: Italian cooking, nature walks, relaxing on the beach in Aruba, spending time with family, hunting and fishing in Maine, and having the most epic firework displays. He was a kid at heart who cherished Christmas, pulled legendary April Fools' pranks, and never passed up the chance to tell a great joke—usually with perfect timing.
But more than anything, John loved his family. Whether gathered around the table or out in nature, his presence was larger than life. John will be deeply missed, but his stories, laughter, and spirit live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
John was the devoted father of Taiylor, Johnny, and Alisiana DeMarco, all of Abington. He was the cherished son of Anne M. (Cahill) Larson and her husband, Andrew of Sarasota, Florida, and the late John A. DeMarco Jr., and his wife, Linda of Brockton. He is survived by his siblings, Danielle DeMarco of Brockton, Sean Larson, Andy Larson, and Renée Glennon, all of Connecticut. He is also survived by his long-time partner, Mia Castiglia of Connecticut, and many loving extended family members and friends. John was preceded in death by his brother, Anthony M. DeMarco.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 2-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte. 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).
A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Monday, May 19, 2025, prior to the Funeral Mass in Holy Ghost Parish, Whitman at 10:30 AM.
Interment is private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in John’s name to the charitable organization of one’s choice.
