John E. Walsh, lovingly known as Jack, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on January 4, 1949, in Brockton, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late James and Ella Walsh. Jack grew up in East Bridgewater and spent his life proudly calling the South Shore home.
Jack was a devoted family man whose greatest joy in life was his wife, Paula, his four children, Colleen, Kerry, Jack, and Kevin, and his beloved grandchildren. He was a warm, kindhearted man who cared deeply about others and was always there whenever someone needed him. Family meant everything to Jack, and he took great pride in the family he built and the many memories they shared.
A man with a wonderful sense of humor, Jack was always making those around him laugh and was never short on a good joke. Some of his family's fondest memories include playing ball together in the backyard, camping trips, and fishing adventures with his children and grandchildren. He especially loved sharing his passion for the outdoors, whether fishing, camping, or spending time in his garden. Jack also enjoyed a good game of billiards and certainly knew his way around a pool table.
Jack was also actively involved in the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts, where he enjoyed being part of an organization that encouraged friendship, learning, and a love of the outdoors.
Jack was a proud member of the Standish Sportsman's Association and Union Local 1138, the Painters Union. He dedicated more than 30 years to his trade, a career he truly loved, before retiring at the age of 59. Throughout his career, Jack took great pride in his work and loved telling his grandchildren about the many schools, hospitals, and other buildings he had painted over the years. He was also very proud of his Irish heritage, which remained an important part of who he was.
Above all, Jack will be remembered for his generous heart, infectious sense of humor, love of family, and the countless memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion that will live on in the hearts of his family forever.
Jack leaves behind his beloved wife, Paula Walsh (Smith); his cherished children, Colleen Patterson and husband Charles of PA, Kerry Clark and her husband Tom of GA, Jack Walsh and his wife Alysia of CT, and Kevin Walsh and his wife, Lisa, of Abington; and his nine adored grandchildren: Aidan, Kade, Kyleigh, Baileigh, Riley, Emma, Brody, and Hailee and Ace.
He was the beloved brother of Sue Cote. He was predeceased by his siblings Harold Walsh, Betty Leate, Barbara Spencer, Jane Lovel, and Milton Walsh. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Jack will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His laughter, kindness, and love will never be forgotten.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday 11/9/2026 from 5-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So.
