John J. “Jack” Fraser, Sr., of Weymouth, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025, at the age of 81, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Boston, Jack was the cherished son of the late Roderick and Theresa (O’Grady) Fraser. A proud and hardworking man, he spent his career as a Teamster, always dedicated to providing for his family.
Jack was a gentle soul with quiet strength and a quick wit. He loved to share a good joke and bring laughter to those around him. Above all, he adored his family and found his greatest joy in being a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and doting great-grandfather.
After the passing of his wife, Doreen, Jack felt her absence deeply. Their bond was unbreakable, and the love and respect they shared was an inspiration.
Jack found peace in life’s simple pleasures—hiking at Blue Hills, sitting by the pool, spending time with his dogs, and being surrounded by his children and grandchildren. His steady presence, generous heart, and quiet devotion will be missed beyond words.
He was the beloved husband of the late Doreen M. (McQuiggan) Fraser.
He is survived by his four children: Doreen Carey of Weymouth, Kimberly Smith and her husband (Kevin) of Whitman, Rena Kocerha and her husband (Kenneth) of Brockton, and John Fraser and his wife (Jennifer) of Braintree.
Proud grandfather of Joshua, Kristin, John (Evageanette), Jennifer (Robert), Alexis, Kevin, Rachael, Leah, and the late Alisha.
Adored great-grandfather to Jaiden, Anthony, Emerson, and Mason. Jack is also survived by many nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart and was predeceased by his 9 older siblings.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2025, from 4–7 PM at McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, South Weymouth, 809 Main Street (Rte. 18, opposite South Shore Hospital).
A funeral service to celebrate Jack’s life will take place on Monday, June 2, 2025, at 11 AM at the same location.
Burial will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to: South Shore Educational Collaborative in memory of both Jack Fraser and his late granddaughter Alisha Carey. 75 Abington Street, Hingham, MA 02043
