Bolger, John J. of Quincy, MA died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on March 27, 2016.
John grew up in Roxbury before moving to Pembroke to raise his family. He was a United States Marine Veteran who served during the Korean War. John received his Bachelors Degree in Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology, and later worked for Boston Edison as an Electrical Draftsman for over 40 years. His main passion was spending time with his family and visiting lifelong friends. John will be remembered for his thoughtful personality and his generosity to the Paralyzed Veterans of America. He was a faithful parishioner of Saint Joseph’s Parish in Quincy and member of the Boston Edison Retirement Association. John will be sadly missed by those who knew him.
Beloved father of Janine Wilson of Quincy and James (Jay) Bolger of Pembroke, former Husband of Dorothy Nee Chamberlin of Sebastian Florida, Devoted Grampy of Olivia, Sophia and Juliet Bolger of Pembroke and caring brother of the late Elizabeth Leblanc of Waltham, MA. John is also survive many loving friends
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 1-5 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10:45 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s Church, Quincy at 11:30 AM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 2:15 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of John may be made to St. Joseph Church, 556 Washington Street, Quincy, MA 02169.
