John “JL” Lasis of Weymouth passed away on August 19, 2026, at the age of 65.

JL was a one-of-a-kind guy who will never be forgotten. He adored his family and treasured every moment spent with his beautiful grandchildren. He was happiest surrounded by the people he loved, making memories, sharing laughs, and enjoying a Dr. McGillicuddy’s Root Beer nip with family and friends.

JL worked for many years as a proud Teamster with Local 25. Outside of work, his greatest passion was riding his motorcycle. He enjoyed countless memorable rides and adventures with his friends and fellow members of his motorcycle club, The Horseman.

Born in Long Island City, New York, JL was the beloved son of the late Leo and Theresa (Murray) Lasis.

He was the beloved husband of the late Deborah Lasis; loving father of Jonathan H. Lasis and his wife, Jennifer, of Pembroke, and Jessica Miceli of New Jersey; and brother of Janet McDonagh and her husband, Michael, of Pocasset.

JL was the cherished Papa of Alexander, Wyatt, Ella, Kennedy, and Jonathan Jr., who brought him immense joy and were among the greatest loves of his life.

JL will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His unforgettable personality, sense of fun, love of adventure, and the memories he created with those around him will live on in the hearts of everyone who loved him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 4–7 PM at the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, South Weymouth, 809 Main Street Route 18, opposite South Shore Hospital.
