John J. McDonough, Jr. “Johnny” of Quincy, originally South Boston, passed away July 15, 2026.

Johnny was a selfless man who devoted himself to his family. He raised his grandchildren and would do anything for them. He was a member of the Chippewa Club in South Boston and worked as the head custodian for Boston Public Schools. Johnny was a happy man with lots of friends and will be greatly missed.

Loving son of the late John J. and Anne (Ferrara) McDonough. Beloved husband of the late Sandra (Keating) McDonough. Cherished father of the late Erin McDonough. Loving brother of his twin Joseph McDonough and his wife Audrey and Margaret Evers. Devoted grandfather of Jared, Madison, Julianna, Marissa, and Brittney and 3 great grandchildren. Loving uncle of Alanna, Jenna, and 2 great nieces and 1 great nephew. Also survived by many dear cousins, especially Jeannie who was always a helping hand when he needed it.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday 7/20/2026 from 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Tuesday 7/21/2026 prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Cremation will follow.
