John J. Quinlan of Weymouth, a cherished pillar of his community, and a beacon of joy to all who knew him, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2024. Born in Chelsea and raised in Dorchester, John raised his own family in Weymouth.
John's life was one marked by devotion and service. A proud husband of over fifty years to Carol Quinlan of Weymouth. He was a beloved son to his father, Richard Quinlan of Dorchester, and was predeceased by his mother, Anna Quinlan. His legacy as a father was etched in the lives of his sons, Matthew Quinlan and his fiancée Carrie Castaldo of Weymouth, and Brian Quinlan and his wife Sarah of Bridgewater.

His role as "Papa" to Audrey, Charlotte, and Mason Quinlan was one he cherished deeply, and his influence on their lives will be a lasting treasure. John's extended family of nieces and nephews will also hold dear their memories of him.
John's commitment to his country was evident by his service in the U.S. Army. Following his military service, he dedicated 30 years as a Boston police officer, a role in which he exemplified courage, fairness, and a deep commitment to the community he served. Even after his retirement, he remained active working as a Security Officer at the JFK Library and as a Lifetime Member of the Elks.
