John R. Saferian, Jr., a lifelong resident of Weymouth, died August 12, 2025 at the age of 76 after a period of failing health.
John was a great and loyal friend to so many throughout his life. He was the second generation owner and operator of John R. Saferian, Co Inc in Weymouth, a paving contractor, where he worked alongside his sons John and Matt. John’s work ethic was legendary and he always strove to exceed his customer’s expectations. Among his many talents, John was a master heavy equipment operator. His character was built on generosity and helping others. It didn’t matter where you came from or your status in life, John was always there to lend a hand. In his free time, John enjoyed NASCAR, motorcycle riding, western movies and TV shows, and hot rods. He even built a Ford T Bucket with his son. Most of all, John devoted his life to his family. He was a proud and loving husband, father and grandfather.
Beloved husband of Kathleen (Kenney) Saferian. Loving father of John J. Saferian and his wife Susan of Weymouth and Matthew Saferian and his wife Kate of Pembroke. Proud "Grampy" of Sadie, Hannah, Jeremy, and Kate.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Sunday 8/17/2025 from 2-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A - Bicknell Square).
