Joseph M. Conlon, formerly of Quincy, died peacefully on February 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at South Shore Hospital, at the age of 61.

He was the beloved son of Joseph F. Conlon and of the late Ellen M. Conlon (Kelly), and the loving brother of Michael and his wife Wendy Conlon of Scituate, and Maryellen (Conlon) Gates and her husband Jeff of Hingham.

He was a devoted father to his two daughters Shaelin and Abby, and a loving partner in life with Mary Manzi. He was a loving uncle of Liam and Brady Conlon, and Ethan and Matthew Gates.

Joe grew up in the Beechwood Knoll section of Quincy, close to Wollaston Beach, and loved hanging out with his many life long friends from the neighborhood who affectionately know him by his nickname “T”. He enjoyed music, going to concerts, playing tennis, boating, skiing, hiking, relaxing at the beach, he was an avid reader, and he loved traveling.

Joe graduated from Boston College High School, Class of 1982. He then earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Lowell, Class of 1986. Following graduation he joined the Navy for a few years and served honorably as part of the crew of the aircraft carrier, John F. Kennedy. When he returned home his “entrepreneurial spirit” took over and he opened his first business, Mailbox Etc., in Quincy Center. His store did very well for a few years against his direct competitor, The UPS Store. Along the way he studied finance and was employed with the financial company MFS, where he worked with both the traders and salesmen, before earning his Series 7 License and starting his own career as a Financial Advisor. During this period of time he was following the growth of one of the hottest new company’s in the area, Granite Telecommunications. He joined their team shortly after and had been happily working there for over twenty years.

Everyone Joe encountered over the years became life long friends. He was easy to get along with, he was a good listener, and overall he was just a “good guy” who would do anything for his friends and family. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him.

Family and friends are welcome to join together to celebrate Joe’s life for a service gathering at Keohane’s Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, Quincy, on Sunday, February 15th, from 2 pm to 5 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joe may be made to Tunnels to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306.
