Joseph Mwangi Kabutu, 49, of Weymouth, MA, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and kindness.
Originally from Kenya, Joseph Mwangi Kabutu was born on January 18, 1975, in Annex Hospital Nakuru, Kenya. He went to Naivasha Boys, then proceeded to attend Menangai High School. Joseph embarked on a new chapter of his life when he migrated to America, where he quickly became a beloved figure in his community.
Joseph was known for his infectious sense of humor and his ability to bring joy to those around him. His laughter and wit made him the life of every party, and he had a remarkable talent for brightening even the darkest days. His generous spirit and easygoing nature made him a cherished friend to many, and he had an extraordinary gift for connecting with people from all walks of life. Many people don’t know that Joe was a chess master, a protective brother, and brilliant person.
Joseph's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the joy that comes from making others smile. He will be remembered for his unwavering generosity, his ability to make friends effortlessly, and the countless moments of laughter he shared with those lucky enough to know him. In his free time, he enjoyed watching movies and shows like Law & Order SVU and anything with Nicolas Cage.
Above all, Joseph loved his family deeply. His family was his cornerstone, and his devotion to them was evident in every aspect of his life. He was not only a loving son and brother but also a constant source of support and encouragement.
He is survived by his mother, Grace Kabutu, his two sisters: Bancy and Barbara, his nephew, Aiden Villalba Kabutu, his brother-in-laws: Jesus Angel Romero Villalba and Robert Jerod McKoy, his uncles: George Kariuki Kabutu, Wilson Wambugu Wangombe and Kelvin Kariuki Ngatia, his aunts: Rose Wamuyu Kariuki and Anne Wamuyu Kariuki, his cousins: John Brian Mwangi Kariuki and Hope Nyambura Kariuki, and many more.
Relatives and friends are welcome to greet Joseph’s family during the visitation on Thursday, September 26th, from 4-6 PM at the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, Quincy. A service will be held at 6 PM, immediately following the visitation at the funeral home. Friends and family will gather to honor his legacy, share their fondest memories, and celebrate Joseph’s life.
Rest in peace, Joseph Kabutu. Your laughter and love will be missed but never forgotten.
