Joseph Edward Madden Sr., age 73, of Weymouth, MA passed away unexpectedly on July 15, 2026.

Joe was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was born in Boston, MA to Mary (O’Connor) Madden and John Madden, and raised in Weymouth, MA. Joe was known for his kind heart, his sense of humor, and his love/hate relationship with the Boston Bruins. He was an avid fan of Boston pro sports, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, fishing, and a good sci-fi movie. Joe always had a good joke to share and always had an accurate 7 day weather forecast ready. He adored and was adored by his two grandchildren.

Joe is survived by his loving siblings: Kathy Regan, John Madden Jr., Jimmy Madden, and Billy Madden. His children, Joseph Madden Jr., Leanne Fisher, and Bobby Gundel. His beloved grandchildren, Joseph Madden III and Lily Madden, and his former wife, Debra (Gabriel) Madden.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at 10 AM in McDonald Keohane Funeral Home. Following the funeral service, burial will take place at Braintree Cemetery, 225 Plain Street.
