Murphy, Joseph M. of Braintree, passed away June 14, 2026.

Joe adored his family and was a devout Catholic. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Milton and Quincy. He worked as a printer and then at Stop and Shop, where he loved socializing. Joe was a big Sci-fi and Western movie fan and a great cook, his specialty being homemade lasagna and chocolate chip cookies. He was a proud veteran of the National Guard and loved his country. Joe was a kind and helpful man who enjoyed talking to people. He will be greatly missed.

Loving son of the late Joseph F. (Ret. BPD) and Marion Murphy. Beloved husband of the late Kathleen Murphy. Cherished father of Thomas Murphy and his girlfriend Patricia Sorensen of Quincy. Loving brother of Patricia Clasby and her late husband David of Milton, Frank Murphy and his wife Diane of Taylors, SC, Jeanne Brewer and her late husband Edward of Auburn, and the late Jeri Behan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday 6/25/2026 from 9-11 AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY followed by a funeral home service at 11 AM. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Walk for Hunger for Project Bread, 145 Border St., Floor 2, Boston, MA 02128.
