Mrs. Julia “Nancy” (Sullivan) Locke, of Braintree, passed away in her home surrounded by her loving family on September 9, 2023.
Born in Boston to the late Martin and Mary (O’Shea) Sullivan, she lived in Braintree for many years.
Nancy was the beloved wife of 52 years to the late John W. ‘Jack” Locke; loving mother of Mary C. Prendergast and her husband, Michael, of Marshfield and John W. Locke and his wife, Nancy, of Mattapan; and cherished Nana to Neeve Prendergast of Boston.
She was the sister of Mary (and the late Joe) Landers of Braintree, the late Catherine and Joe Arsenault of Braintree, Patricia (and the late Peter) Foley, of Woburn, Louise (and the late Bob) Kelly, of Dorchester, the late Regina and Jim Senier of Weymouth, the late Marty Sullivan of Dorchester, and Joann and Jay Kerins of Dorchester.
Nancy was also the sister-in-law of Leo and Rosalie Locke of Florida, the late Donald Locke of Dedham, Maureen (and the late John) Martin of Walpole, Jerry (and the late Doris) Locke of Dedham, and the late Marilyn Locke of Dedham. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Known for her sparkly blue eyes, warm smile, and infectious laugh, Nancy loved spending time with family, especially with her sisters in Florida and visiting family in Ireland. Always on the hunt for a treasure, Nancy enjoyed yard saling with her friend, Barbara Reardon, and later in life with her sisters. Nancy was happiest spending summers down “The Cottage” in Manomet and hosting gatherings on the porch.
Nancy instilled a love of family and touched the lives of so many.
