June Diane Lanergan

June Diane Lanergan, née Flaherty, lovingly known as Diane, passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with dementia. She was surrounded by love and compassion in her final days at the Pat Roche Hospice House in Hingham, MA, where she received exceptional care from the devoted staff.

Born and raised in Dorchester, Diane later moved to Weymouth after marrying the love of her life, the late William P. Lanergan (QPD). Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and family. In her later years, Diane resided in Pembroke, and most recently at Atria Marina Bay in Quincy, where she enjoyed the kindness of a supportive community.

Diane was known for her warmth, gentle spirit, and love of life’s simple pleasures. She cherished days at the beach, enjoyed bowling and shopping, and was happiest caring for her beloved pets—including her dogs, Bentley and Lola, and her cherished cats. She especially loved vacationing on Cape Cod, creating joyful memories with her family.

She is survived by her devoted son, William C. Lanergan (QPD), and his wife Lori, as well as her loving grandsons, William A. and Jonathan Lanergan. She also leaves behind her brother, Anthony Lastoria, and his wife Patricia; her sister, Maria Lastoria, and her wife Laura; and her sister-in-law, Rita Hess, and her husband Paul.

Diane was predeceased by her husband, William P. Lanergan (QPD); her daughter, Jennifer Lanergan; and her mother, Alice Lastoria.

Diane will be remembered for her loving heart, quiet strength, and unwavering dedication to her family. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, from 4-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 10 AM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy. Burial in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Weymouth.
