Karen Spada, 71, of Randolph (formerly of Weymouth), passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025.
Born in Boston July 19, 1954, Karen was the wife of the late Richard Spada Sr. She was the proud mom of Richard Jr. and his wife Kori, and a loving “Gram” to Kenzie and Richard “RJ” Spada III. She is survived by her siblings Robert and Janet, and is now reunited with her brothers Stephen and John.
Karen grew up in Dorchester, and later Weymouth, as the daughter of Howard and Janet (Reilly) Clinkscale. She was a 1972 graduate of Weymouth North High School. She worked as a talented seamstress her entire life, but it was her humor and heart that truly left a mark. Karen could make anyone laugh, even on their worst day, and found humor in any situation whether it was appropriate or not. Even as dementia took its toll, she still kept her razor-sharp wit.
Karen was a lover of “Oldies” music, especially Tom Jones and Frankie Valli, true crime novels, Dateline, Sodoku puzzles, and in her later years, adult coloring and mandala books. She particularly enjoyed summer vacations to the White Mountains of New Hampshire and road trips with her sister Janet.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Country Gardens Health & Rehabilitation in Swansea for their compassionate care and kindness to Karen over the past three years, as well as the staff of the Greene Cancer Center in Brockton who helped her beat breast cancer several times.
Family and friends are invited to pay respects and share memories of Karen during visiting hours on Monday, November 3, from 4–6 PM at the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, 809 Main Street, Weymouth, with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 6 PM. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in Karen’s name to the Greene Cancer Center at Brockton Hospital.
