Golden, Kathleen E. (Shannon), of Quincy, died at South Cove Manor in Quincy on August 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Boston on July 18, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Walter T. Shannon and Margaret E. (Flanagan) Shannon. She attended the Andrew and St. Augustine schools in South Boston and worked at the House of Bianchi and Melpar Electronics. After her marriage she made a loving home for her husband and family in Quincy.
Kathleen was the beloved wife of the late Donald Golden of Quincy (both were originally from South Boston). The two shared 61 loving years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of Donald M. Golden and his wife Sandy of Quincy, Kathleen M. White and her husband Keith of Littleton, Christine M. Johnston and her husband Jeff of Wilmington, and Karen E. Golden Russell and her husband Terence of Irving, Texas. Kathleen was the loving grandmother of Michael and Sarah Golden; Douglas and Jonathan White; and James, Katherine, and Caroline Johnston. She is the loving sister of Maguerite Lynch, Claire Linehan, Patricia Hartnett, Rosemary Oberton, and the late Dorothy Madden, Walter Shannon, John Shannon, and Paul Shannon. She is survived by her lifelong dear friend Carole (Lombardi) Kussmann and by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet Kathleen’s family during visiting hours on Monday, August 11 from 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Tuesday, March 12 prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM.
Services will conclude with interment in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
