Kathleen Marie (Grow) Monahan

Kathleen Marie (Grow) Monahan, age 79, passed away on October 17, 2025. Her passing was peaceful, and she was surrounded by her family.

She was born on September 26, 1946, in Framingham, Massachusetts. After raising her children, she enrolled at Cambridge College and received a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology in 1992. For 27 years she worked at the Dorchester House Health Center as a Behavioral Health Counselor helping with children and families.

Her greatest joy was her family. She cherished moments spent with her numerous grandchildren, who brought her immense joy. She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren, driving in her car, listening to music and dancing, Friday night card games at Denis’s house, and watching television.

Kathy's legacy continues through her children: Kathleen Bither and husband Eric of Quincy, MA; John Monahan of Marshfield, MA; Pamela Monahan and husband George of Marshfield, MA; Dawn Hernandez and husband Manuel of Hampton, GA; Michael Monahan and wife Heather of Methuen, MA and Daniel Monahan and wife Lisa of Hanover, MA. She was an extremely proud grandmother to 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her brothers Albert Grow of Nashua, NH, Donald Grow of Ossipee, NH, Denis Grow of Avon, MA, Kevin Grow of Holbrook, MA, Patrick Grow of Salem, NH and Brian Grow of Wareham, MA; and her sisters Margaret Grow of Derry, NH and Mary Higgins of Whitman, MA.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Mary F. and Donald E. Grow and her siblings, Maureen Wysocki and Timothy Grow.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte .18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 10 AM.

Services will conclude with interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Boston.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Kathleen's name to the charitable organization of one's choice.
