Kerry F. (Mahoney) Smith, of Duxbury, passed away suddenly on Oct. 14, 2026. She was 58.

Born and raised in Weymouth, Kerry was the daughter of the late Timothy and Nancy (McCormack) Mahoney.

Kerry, a graduate of Suffolk University, began her career as a staff accountant in Boston before moving to Duxbury to start a family. She later founded her own company, Duxbury Events, where she helped others celebrate life’s special moments and create lasting memories and friendships.

She was the beloved wife of Gary Smith of Duxbury and the loving mother of Cameron Smith, Carolyn Smith, and Connor Smith, all of Duxbury.

Kerry loved gardening and flowers, particularly her prized hydrangeas. She was known for her cooking and baking. Her banana bread was locally famous amongst her family and friends.

She enjoyed going to the beach, taking walks, and spending time with friends. Known for her wonderful sense of humor and razor-sharp wit, she brightened any room. Kerry was especially thoughtful and reached out to loved ones just because she thought they needed a kind word or a good laugh.

But, most of all, Kerry will always be remembered as a loving and devoted mother to her three children and her dog, Charlie. Her family was the center of her world, and she was the happiest when they were together.

She was the sister of the late Stephen Mahoney. She is survived by three sisters, Gail Bergquist of Pembroke, Ann Foster of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and Claire Reilly and her husband, Paul, of Hanover. Kerry is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends, including Patricia Florio of Hanson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Kerry’s Funeral Mass on Monday, Nov. 2, at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 601 Tremont St., Duxbury.

A private burial will be held at a later date.
