Kevin M. Glynn was born on May 16, 1945, at the Glynn Hospital, owned by his aunt, an Irish immigrant. His mother, Catherine Glynn (Gill), worked there as the hospital's cook; his father, Michael Glynn, had also immigrated from Ireland. Kevin spent much of his childhood helping at the hospital. As a child, he begrudgingly carried post-surgical patients down the stairs.
At 18, Kevin met the woman who would become his wife, Helen. They married at Sacred Heart Church in Quincy on August 1, 1970, and shared a devoted marriage.
He became a pharmacist and practiced for over 40 years. Kevin is a graduate of Northeastern University where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and his Master of Science in Hospital Pharmacy.
In 1989, he moved to Arizona, where he lived for the remainder of his life. He had the opportunity to travel throughout his life: backpacked with his young kids through Europe, visited his parents’ home country several times - Ireland - visiting his family, Alaska, Bora Bora, Mexico, most of the United States, and Russia.
Kevin loved his family deeply and was immensely proud of them. Kevin is survived by his wife, Helen Glynn; his daughter, Joanna Blum (Glynn) and Jonathan; and his son, Matthew Glynn and Jonathan Grunert. He was Gramps to his eight grandchildren: Ellie, Nine, Jack, Mary, Maggie, Nora, Theo, and Owen. Kevin was also a grateful friend of Bill W.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday, July 8th, from 4-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Thursday, July 9th, prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
