Mrs. Laura T. Driscoll, of Newburyport, 87, formerly of Weymouth, MA and North Port, FL died February 4, 2018. Laura was born in Weymouth to the late Alfred and Margaret (Gaudet) Comeau. She graduated Weymouth High School and worked at the Braintree Cooperative Bank for 21 years. She enjoyed baking, especially woofie pies, sang in the St. Albert the Great Church choir, picked weeds and lobster legs with equal pleasure and handknit Christmas stockings for her four children, their spouses, her ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Laura was part of group of childhood friends, “The Club,” which met every other Tuesday for 50 years, a member of the La Casa pool exercise class, and wherever she lived, Bingo was her favorite game.
Loving mother of Anne Driscoll of Swampscott and Ireland, Robert and his wife Ginger, of Jacksonville, FL, Jim and his wife Kathy, of Jacksonville, FL, and Karen and her husband Tim Harris of Byfield, MA. Beloved sister of Vilda Donovan of Jacksonville, FL, Anna Fahnley of Naples, FL, Lucille Comeau of East Dennis, MA, the late Earl Comeau of Weymouth, Andrew Comeau of Braintree, and Robert Comeau of Weymouth. Adored by grandchildren Maura, Marisa and Colin Fields, Andrea Plumley, Lauren McDonald, Jessi Johnson, the late Carly Driscoll, Jimmy Driscoll, and Holly and Haleigh Harris.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Tuesday 8:30-10:30 am at the McDonald-Keohane Funeral Home, 3 Charles Street, EAST WEYMOUTH, followed by a funeral Mass at St. Albert the Great Church, 1130 Washington St., Weymouth, MA. Burial at the National Cemetery in Bourne, MA on Wednesday 11:15 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Laura’s memory to: The Alzheimers Assn., MA Chapter, 309 Waverly Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
